DRIVING MISS DAISY tells the poignant tale of the developing
friendship between Daisy Wertham, a curmudgeonly, seventy-two-year-old
widow, and Hoke Coburn, a black man hired to be her chauffeur.
While
reflecting the changing world through a relationship that evolves
humor and warmth, the play also addresses the era's issues of
prejudice, dependence and pride that both characters passionately
possess.
In
a series of absorbing and revealing scenes the two, despite
their mutual differences, grow ever closer to and more dependent
on each other.
Driving
Miss Daisy spans 25 years of a friendship filled with warmth,
humor and sparkling insights.
