If you love The Nutcracker, then you will really love the Nuncrackers, the holiday dancing treat that landed in Griffin just in time to launch the Yuletide season.

The Main Street Players presented the funniest Nunsense play yetÑNuncrackersÑa musical spoof of the classic ballet of (almost) the same name. The holiday show-within-a-show spoofs the annual Christmas ballet danced by the nuns of the whimsical Mount Saint Helen's Convent in beautiful downtown Hoboken, NJ

The nutty nuns are warming up for their first televised dance special, taped in "front of a live studio audience." However, as air time approaches, things go hopelessly awry backstageÑholiday gifts are stolen, Sister Mary Leo twists her best ankle and Father Virgil is forced to replace Sister Julia, Child of God, in a cooking segment that devolves into a rum-soaked slapstick romp.

Hilarious antics ensue as the cast and members of the convent (and the audience) learn the "true" meaning of Christmas

The show includes the traditional carols, plus some new Christmas spoofs including Here We Come-a-Waffle-ing and Santa's Little Teapot. The show is filled with typical Nunsense humor, including a Secret Santa audience/participation game. It's a perfect way to guarantee that your holiday season will be merry and bright!
